CASE launches new excavator for Indian market

CASE Construction Equipment, an American manufacturer of heavy construction machinery and subsidiary of CNH Industrial, has introduced a new excavator—the CX220C Crawler—to the Indian market, further enlarging its footprint there. Produced in India at CASE’s Pithampur manufacturing facility, the CX220C is a beast of a machine powered by a 6-cylinder FPT Industrial engine and tipping the scales at 22 tonnes. It’s robust as well as economical, combining impressive productivity with relatively low fuel consumption.

Raunak Varma, Country Manager at CNH Industrial India, described the Indian market as one that is central to the company’s continued growth.

“CASE India embarks on a new journey with it’s made in India excavator,” he said. “With the launch of our new product today, we have expanded our offering to include the largest segment in the Indian equipment market. As one of the biggest construction equipment markets and one of the fastest growing economies in the world, India forms a key part of our growth strategy.”

He added that the CX220C excavator was designed specifically to satisfy the needs and regulatory requirements of the market. Every market is different; each has its own rules and regulations. Child care in Hornsby, for example, isn’t the same as child care elsewhere.

“We are committed to this market and are growing consistently in terms of our product portfolio, manufacturing capabilities and customer touchpoints.” Varma said. “Our excavator is customized for our region’s specific requirements and comes with CASE’s promise of strong performance and efficient technology.

“The CX220C is testament to our philosophy of constant innovation, advanced technology integration and exceeding customer expectations.”

Featuring a turbocharger with an air-cooled intercooler, the CX220C engine is operational in temperatures ranging from -15°C to 55°C. Meanwhile, its hydraulic system includes two variable flow piston pumps, multiple working modes, and an auto power boost.

The cab is designed for comfort and ease of use, with pressurised heat and defrost functions, a 7 inch LCD color monitor, mechanical suspended seat, sliding cockpit and more.

“At CASE India, we have always endeavored to provide innovative machines and the new CX220C Excavator is another step in this direction,” said Sandeep Mathur, Brand Leader at CASE India. “With our range of compactors, graders, backhoe loaders and dozers, we are already in a strong position in the construction segment and the new excavator will help to consolidate CASE India’s competitiveness in the crawler excavator segment as well.”

To promote its new product, CASE is allowing customers to rent the CX220C for a limited time to see whether they would like to purchase it.
